WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita State Gold squad took game one of the Shocker Fall World Series 3-1. Bret Bascue drove in two for the Gold while Will Baez went 2-for-3.
Gold starter Tim Kelley earned the win going six innings and giving up one run on five hits while striking out five.
The Black squad was led by Clint McKeever who went 1-for-4 with a home run. Black starter Jordan Cooper took the loss going six innings and giving up two runs on four hits while striking out seven.
The two teams meet for game two at 2:30 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 4.
