WICHITA, Kan. -  Ryan Spears has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 5-12.

Spears, a senior from Del City, Okla., won the individual title at the 39th Annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational Sept. 8-9 in Colorado Springs, Colo. With a 54-hole total of 203, Spears set a new individual scoring record for the tournament. His final round score of 65 helped the Shockers overcome a 10-stroke deficit after two rounds and win the tournament in a playoff against Iowa State.

This is Spears' first Golfer-of-the-Week award this season.
