Hoyt to Miss Remainder of Season

WICHITA - Wichita State freshman guard Jacie Hoyt will miss the remainder of the season with injury head coach Jane Albright announced Monday. Hoyt suffered a broken ankle on Dec. 8 against Prairie View and has missed every game since.

"We are obviously very disappointed that Jacie wont be able to rejoin us this season," Albright said. "She was a great catalyst for us and we have missed her play and leadership. Our medical staff did everything they could do to get her back into our lineup and I am appreciative of their efforts and expertise. We look forward to having a healthy Jacie with us next year."

The Hoxie, Kan., native played in seven games this season, averaging 4.1 points and nearly two assists per game. Hoyt also averaged better than two steals a game, and shot 94 percent from the free throw line.

WSU will apply to the Missouri Valley Conference for a medical hardship for Hoyt.
