Abby Harsh has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week for the period of Oct. 1-7.
Harsh, a senior from Newton, Kan., led the Shockers to a conference road win at Missouri State that snapped the Bears 11-match winning streak. She set a school record with 75 assists in the match, which broke the record of 73 set by Yu-Chyi Yang against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 3, 1989.
She averaged 18.75 assists per game and 3.00 digs per game as she recorded her seventh double-double of the season. She led the Shockers to a .225 hitting percentage against the Bears which is the second-highest hitting percentage MSU has allowed this season. She also distributed the ball well as four Shocker hitters finished with double-digit kills as WSU averaged 20 kills per game.
It is the third MVC Player-of-the-Week honor of her career.
