WICHITA, Kan. ? Sara Lungren, a junior outside hitter on the Shocker volleyball team, is the T-Mobile WSU Athlete-of-the-Week for the period of Oct.
30-Nov. 5.
Lungren, from Caldwell, Kan., led the Shockers to a 2-1 record last week including two conference victories. She averaged 4.33 kills per game, 5.50 digs per
game, 0.33 service aces per game, 1.00 block per game and 5.21 points per game.
She collected two 20/20 double-doubles on the week including 20 kills and a career-high 26 digs against Oral Roberts and tied her career-high with 24 kills
against Evansville, while adding 24 digs. She also added four blocks against the Golden Eagles and tied her career-high with seven block assists against the
Purple Aces. Against Southern Illinois, she had eight kills, 16 digs and three service aces. During the three matches, she also received serve 87 times and had
a perfect 1.000 reception percentage.
With her two 20-kill/20-dig double-doubles last week, she now has three on the season, which is a new school record.
