Smith Signs to Play with the Shockers

WICHITA, Kan.- Jordan Smith of Olathe, Kan., signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play men's golf at Wichita State, head coach Grier Jones announced today.

Smith played golf at Olathe South High School and was selected to the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Kansas Junior Cup Teams, as well as the 2005 All Kansas City Metro High School First Team. He also qualified for the 2005 and 2006 U.S. Junior Amateurs. His stroke average in 2006 was 70.4, highlighted by a low round of 65 at the Kansas/Nebraska Junior Cup.

Academically, Smith was a 2005 and 2006 Member of the National Honor Society along with being on the OSHS Honor Roll in 2004, 2005 and 2006. He was awarded the 2004 Kansas State High School Citizenship Award while holding a 3.91 grade point average.
