Student Assistant

After spending three years as a player for the Wichita State women’s golf team, Laine Evans joins the Shocker coaching staff for the 2019-20 season as a student assistant.

As a student assistant, Evans will help the coaching staff prepare for each tournament by researching information about each golf course, preparing and scheduling practices as well as mentoring the student-athletes. Evans finished her career at Wichita State collecting 10 program record book spots, finishing with the second lowest career stroke average (76.74), career 54-hole average (228.958) and single season 54-hole average (223.375) during her senior year.

Evans finished her career with 10 top 10 finishes and 18 top 20 finishes, with her highest career finish coming at the KC Intercollegiate. Her tied for fourth finish allowed her to capture the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on April 10, 2019.

Evans is working toward a degree in Management and plans to graduate in December.
