2014 (SOPHOMORE): Set 15 personal bests his second year in both indoor and outdoor events; some include, placing 4th with 6595 points in the KT Woodman Decathlon and 1st in the Wichita StateĀ Varsity Apartments Invitational shot put with a throw of 13.57m.
2013 (FRESHMAN): INDOOR- Completed his first heptathlon at the Varsity Apartments Invitational, finished 12th with 3,878 points. Placed a season best fourth in the triple jump at the KSU Open with a mark of 44-0 ¾. Improved his 60m hurdle time in each of the his last three meets of the season, posting a personal best of 9.23 at the Air Force Team Challenge. OUTDOOR- Scored 5,713 points in the decathlon to finish 14th at the Shirley Crowe Multi.Ā Placed seventh in the high jump (6-0) and triple jump (43-5) at the Track-It-Buster Invitational.Ā Ran a personal best of 16.24 in the 110m hurdles at the Track-It-Buster Invitational.Ā Ā
Wichita Heights High School: Became the first person in school history to win a state championship in three sports as a senior (football, basketball, and track & field). Captured the Kansas State 6A Championship in the triple jump.Ā Qualified for state in the 300m hurdles as senior, his first year competing in the event. Reached the state meet in the high jump in each of his final two years as a Falcon. Helped Wichita Heights win the state basketball championship for three consecutive years. Lettered in soccer three times. Graduated with a 3.53 G.P.A. and was a member of National Honor Society.
Personal: Son of Stephen and Carol Cross. Has an older sister, Chelsie. Stephen played basketball at Friends University.
