Rob Garcia is in his fourth year as director of operations with the Wichita State track and field staff.
He comes to Wichita State after working three years with the YMCA at the Northwest branch youth sports director. While working for the YMCA he organized sport programs, created schedules and managed gameday operations.
Rob graduated from Wichita State in 2015 with a degree in criminal justice. While at WSU he competed in 2010-15, where he earned MVC all-conference honors finishing third place as part of the distance medley relay team during the 2013 Indoor season. His personal best 4:07.56 in the mile is the ninth fastest Indoor mile in Shocker history and his 2:28.98 is 10th fastest in the 1000m Indoor. z
Garcia is a native Wichitan and graduated from Wichita Northwest. As a Grizzly he was the state champion in the 1600m run, seven-time regional champion and six-time city league champion.
