2013 (SENIOR): INDOOR- Did Not Compete; OUTDOOR: Finished fifth in the javelin throw at the MVC Outdoor Championships (136-1) Threw a season best of 139-7 to take second at the Skechers SFA Invitational. Ended her home career with a throw of 131-7 to finish fifth at the Track-It-Buster Invitational. Posted five top 10 finishes during the season.
2012 (JUNIOR): INDOOR - Did not compete; OUTDOOR - Threw javelin at six meets for the Shockers...Threw a personal best 140-2 at the ESU Open to start the season, finishing fourth...Also finished fourth at the Track-It Buster Invitational.
2011 (SOPHOMORE): INDOOR - Did not compete. OUTDOOR - Set a personal best with a throw of 129' 9" at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, finishing fourth...Was fourth at the BCS Buster Invitational with a top mark of 125' 11"...Finished eighth in the javelin with a top mark of 127' 10" at the Mondo Mid-Major Challenge.
2010 (FRESHMAN): INDOOR - Did not compete. OUTDOOR - Set a personal best mark in first collegiate meet with a throw of 128' 9" at the Bobby Lane/UT-Arlington Invitational to finish seventh...Was fifth in the javelin at the Sooner Invitational (117' 7")...Season best finish of fourth in the javelin at the Sooner Open (110' 4").
High School: Lettered four years in track, volleyball, basketball and three years in golf at Pretty Prairie HS...Class valedictorian.
Personal: Born Dec. 8, 1990...Daughter of Daryl and Lynette Markel...has one brother, Tony...Majoring in elementary education.
