2022-23 (Sophomore):
Junior college transfer averaged just under 12 minutes-per-game in his lone season as a Shocker while backing up all-conference point guard Craig Porter Jr... Averaged 2.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and handed out 20 assists with just 14 turnovers... Connected on 35.7% of his three-point attempts... Best performance came in the Dec. 31 home game against ECU when he replaced an injured Porter in the starting lineup and finished with a career-high 19 points on 5-of-7 three-point shooting while clocking 31 minutes... Contributed nine points on 4-of-5 shooting and a season-high five assists in an overtime game against Missouri (Nov. 29) and tallied six points in over 31 minutes at Kansas State (Dec. 3)... Entered the transfer portal in the Spring of 2023 with two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Junior College:
Qualified academically out of high school but opted for a season of junior college ball at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla...  Drew interest from North Texas, Akron, Kent State and Cleveland State but ultimately signed with the Shockers... Announced his commitment on July 29, 2022... Coached by former Shocker assistant Greg Heiar... In 33 games, averaged 6.8 points, made 29 threes on 47.5 percent accuracy and sported a 1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio.... Helped his team to 31 wins and the NJCAA Division I national title... Earned second team all-conference honors.
 
High School:
Graduate of Shaker Heights High School... As a senior, averaged 14.4 points and 2.1 steals for a  team that advanced to the Ohio state quarterfinals before COVID-19 put a stop to postseason play.

First name pronounced "Shem-MAW.".. Born Feb. 16... Has a twin sister and one younger brother... Sport management major at WSU.
