Baylie Stous transitions to a new full-time role in 2017-18 as men’s basketball’s Program Assistant. She spent the past two years as a graduate assistant in the WSU athletic department.
Stous handles a number of behind-the-scenes duties for the staff, ranging from day-to-day operations to special events. She assists with expense reports, the planning and coordinating of road trips, travel itineraries, the scheduling of team meals, campus recruiting and practices. She also plays an important part in the team’s recruiting efforts, handling social media accounts and recruitment pieces. In the spring and summer, she helps plan and execute the annual Gregg Marshall Auction and Golf Tournament and the many Gregg Marshall Shocker Basketball Summer Camps.
Stous shouldered many of the same responsibilities in 2016-17 as men’s basketball’s administrative graduate assistant after a year assisting the WSU Student Services Deparment. In the latter role, she worked with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and served as the department’s community outreach project coordinator.
During the 2014-15 season, Stous completed an internship at Bowling Green as the men’s basketball program’s administrative assistant, helping with day-to-day operations in the office. From 2012-14, she was a student manager for the Shockers.
A native of Berryton, Kan., Stous owns a pair of sport management degrees from Wichita State University. She completed her undergraduate work in 2015 and added a master’s in 2017.
