Outdoor – Ran at seven meets … Qualified for the West Regional in the 1,500 meters … Advanced to the quarterfinals at the West Regional, but took 22nd and didn’t advance to Eugene … Claimed the 800 meters’ conference title at the AAC meet … Took fourth in the 1,500 meters t the conference meet, barely missing out on all-conference honors … Tallied four victories on the season … Ran his season best in the 1,500 meters at the John McDonnell Invitational with a time of 3:43.39 … Ran his season-best time of 1:52.01 at the conference meet.
2019-20: Cross Country - Raced at five meets for the Shockers … Scored at all five races … Finished 19th at the AAC Championships, just four spots off from all-conference honors … Ran his season-best time at 8K at the conference meet when he crossed the line in 24:50 … Finished 37th at the Midwest Regional with a time of 31:48.8 in his lone 10K of the year … Led the Shockers at Pre-Nationals with a 101st-place finish … Finished seventh at the JK Gold Classic … Was the second Shocker across the line at the Bill Dellinger Invitational with a 78th-place finish.Â

2018-19: Cross Country - Finished top-20 in three of five races entered...Led the Shockers to three top-5 team finishes, including a fourth place team finish at the American Athletic Conference Championships...Placed second at the J.K. Gold Classic 6K with a time of 18:55.5...Finished 17th overall at the AAC Championships with a time of 28:29.41.
Indoor - Ran 10 races in five meets...Opened the season running a personal best 1000m time of 2:25.08 at the Hawkeye Invitational, the third fastest time in Shocker history...Recorded two top-3 finishes at the KU/KSU/WSU Triangular, placed second in the 800m (1:56.64) and third in the mile (4:16.75)...Won the Pitt State Invitational mile with a time of 4:04.80...Ran the fifth fastest 800m (1:50.50) in Shocker history in the preliminary race of the American Athletic Conference Championships, before placing third in the finals with a time of 1:50.58...Defended his conference indoor mile title winning the 2019 race with a time of 4:16.58.
Outdoor - Placed top-5 in 11 of 13 races he entered...Ran a season opener 800m time of 1:54.38 to place second at the Herm Wilson Invitational...Finished fourth in a highly competitive Stanford Invitational 1500m race with a time of 3:47.80...Won the John McDonnell Invitational 1500m in 3:44.72...Was part of the 4x800m relay team that won the 92nd Kansas Relays in 7:50.37, also placed second in the 800m in 1:52.12...Won the 110th Drake Relays 1500m with a personal best time of 3:42.96, also the third fastest time in Shocker history. Ran as a member of the distance medley that finished fourth with the fifth fastest time in school history of 9:52.28...Scored 14 points for Wichita State at the American Athletic Conference Championships. Won the 1500m title with a time of 3:49.07 and finished fifth in the 800m in 1:52.63...Was an NCAA West Regional qualifier in the 1500m, ran 3:45.33 to earn the last qualifying spot to the semifinals where he placed 13th with a time of 3:43.07.
2017-18: Cross Country - Ran in six races, including two top-5 finishes...Placed fourth at the J.K Gold Classic 6K with a time of 18:41.0...Finished third at the Missouri Southern Stampede 8K with a time of 24:56.3...Ran a 26:27.1 8K to finish 26th at the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships...Finished 50th at the NCAA Midwest Regional 10K with a time of 30:09.7.
Indoor - Won the Herm Wilson Invitational 800m with a time of 1:53.89...Ran the third fastest mile (4:03.39) in Shocker history winning the 3rd Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic...Recorded two top-5 finishes at the American Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, earned all-conference honors winning the mile in 4:11.90 and placed fourth in the 800m with the ninth fastest time in Shocker history of 1:51.93.
Outdoor - Ran in eight meets...Won the Shocker Open 1500m with the fifth fastest time in Shocker history of 3:45.41...Placed second at the K.T. Woodman Classic in the 800m with a time of 1:54.87...Finished fourth in the 1500m (3:49.93) at the Drake Relays...Finished 36th in the 1500m (3:54.96) at the NCAA West Preliminaries.
2016-17: Cross Country – Ran unattached at the J.K. Gold Classic with a time of 18:59.1 to finish seventh.
Indoor – Competed in seven different meets, including eleven top three finishes…Won the 800m (1:53.80) at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular and part of the distance medley relay at the Tyson Invitational with a time of 9:50.45…Set a personal best in mile with a time of 4:06.89 to finish second at the Tyson Invitational…A pair of second place finishes at the Herm Wilson Invitational in the 4x4 3:18.88 as well as a personal best in the 800m 1:52.00...Finished second in the 800m and sixth in the mile at the MVC Indoor Championships.
Outdoor – Placed third at the Stanford Invitational with a personal best 3:47.59 in the 1500m…Placed fifth in the 1500m and seventh in the 800m at the MVC Outdoor Championships.

2015-16: Cross Country- Ran in four races unattached, including the J.K. Gold Classic where he ran the 6K race in 19:51.3 to finish 15th and the Woody Greeno where he finished 35th in 27:01.2… Also ran in the Pre-Nationals 8K in a time of 26:09.4.
Indoor – Eight top ten finishes, including a sixth place finish in the mile (4:18.41) at the MVC Indoor Championships…Won the Kansas State Wildcate Invite with a time of 1:55.76 in the 800m…Finished with a pair of second place finishes in the 800 (1:54.80) at the Herm Wilson Invitational and a personal best 2:28.14 in the 1,000m at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular.
Outdoor – Had three top five finishes…Won the 1500m at the Emporia State Relays with a time of 3:58.94.
High School:Â Missouri Class 5A 1,600 meter runner-up... High School bests were 1:55 in the 800m, 4:11 in the 1600m and 9:21 in the 3200m... Lettered four years in cross country and track and field, and one year in soccer... Earned All-State honors in 2014 in 4A and 2015 in 5A in the 1600 meters and 800 meters.Â
Personal:Â Son of Darin and Cherri Penrod... Has a sister, Emma... Also recruited by Southeast Missouri and Missouri Southern... Majoring in exercise science at WSU.
