Chad Gibney is entering his sixth year with the men’s basketball program at Wichita State and his first as graduate assistant.
Gibney assists in the day-to-day operations of the program, helping coordinate training table meals, schedules individual workouts and gym availability. He oversees WSU’s staff of eight student managers and assists the coaching staff with practice and game preparation, scouting reports and other vital statistics.
Gibney served as a student manager for the team from 2010-15, with the last three in the role of head manager.
During his time as a manager, the Shockers made four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a run to the 2013 Final Four, and won three regular-season Missouri Valley Conference championships and one Valley tournament title.
Gibney graduated from Wichita State in 2014 with his B.A. in sport management. He is currently a second-year graduate student, and will graduate with a master’s degree in sport management in May of 2016.
