WICHITA, Kan. -- After wrapping up the regular season with a 73-31 overall record, Wichita State women's bowling landed at #5 in the March edition of National Tenpin Coaches Association 2025-2026 Coaches Poll announced Monday.
The ranking matches where the Shockers were placed in the preseason. WSU has been as high as #4 for the February poll and as low as #6 in the December edition.
Jacksonville State was the unanimous #1 team in the rankings, earning 1,575 points as the first of seven Conference USA programs at the top of the poll (Vanderbilt, Arkansas State, Nebraska, Wichita State, Louisiana Tech and Youngstown State). Maryville at #8 is the highest ranked team outside of CUSA, which also boasts the #9, #10 and #11 teams.
The Shockers have compiled a very good spring, logging three top-three finishes out of four tournaments. Wichita State placed third out of 36 teams at the loaded Northeast Classic, followed up with a runner-up finish at the Saints Invite, won the Big Red Invite, and surged late to earn seventh out of 34 teams at the Music City Classic in their final regular season tournament.
Wichita State heads to the Conference USA Championship this week at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, Louisiana. The competition begins Wednesday, March 18.
