A New Season Begins
• Wichita State men's tennis is in its fourth season under head coach
Darragh Glavin.
• The Shockers went 12–13 last season, their best record and highest win total under Glavin.
• Wichita State had a preseason team Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 74.43, which ranked as No. 66 in the NCAA.
• The Shockers are 5-7 on the season with wins over New Mexico State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, UTSA and Denver.
Last Matches Recap
• Wichita State split a pair of matches competing in Boise, Idaho, two weeks ago, losing to Boise State and defeating Denver.
• Against Boise State on Feb. 13, the Broncos narrowly won the doubles point, clinching it with a 6-4 at No. 2.
• In singles, the teams split the first sets evenly at three apiece.
• The Broncos went on to win five of six singles matches, with
Alejandro Jacome being the only Shocker to earn a win, taking down his opponent at No. 3, 7-6 (4), 6-3.
• The following day against Denver, the Shockers took doubles from the Pioneers, with
Rodrigo Cruz and
Ilias Worthington winning 6-2 at No. 3, and
Zaid Al Mashni and

• Jacome and Worthington tied for the team lead in doubles wins with 11 among returning Shockers.
Returners to the Lineup
• Five Shockers return for another season in Wichita in 2026.
• The five returners combined for 39 of the team's 65 dual-match singles wins last season.
• Three of the top five Shockers in singles wins—Jacome, Worthington, and
Amir Milushev—are back with Wichita State.
Newcomers
• The Shockers have four new players for the 2025–26 season, with three arriving for the spring semester.
• All four—Alcaya, Cruz,
Felix Bockelmann-Evans and
James Lammas—arrived in Wichita as true freshmen.
