LAST TIME OUT
Despite a strong start and a late push in the fourth quarter, Wichita State couldn't keep up with a fast-paced Idaho squad Saturday afternoon, falling 83-61 at the Bren Events Center. The Shockers opened the game with energy, getting early scoring from Maimouna Sissoko, who poured in four quick points as WSU kept it close through most of the first quarter, but Idaho closed the period on 9-2 run before Kyleigh Ortiz hit a buzzer beater three to end the quarter. The Vandals carried the first quarter momentum into a decisive 19-9 second quarter that created separation the Shockers couldn't erase.
