WICHITA STATE IN MULTI-TEAM EVENTS
• The Shockers are in search of their first title at a Multi-Team Event since winning the 2012 Cancun Challenge and the 2013 CBE Classic in consecutive years. They've been runner-up five times since then: 2014 Diamond Head Classic (Honolulu), 2017 Maui Invitational, 2019 Cancun Challenge, 2022 Hall of Fame Classic and 2024 ESPN Events Invitational.
• The 2012 Cancun title was Wichita State's first at a neutral site event since winning the 1963 All-College tournament in Oklahoma City.
• Shocker teams have won a total of 15 regular season tournaments in the modern era, with 10 of those coming on their home court.
• Wichita State was scheduled to take part in the 2020 Battle 4 Atlantis, but the event was canceled due to COVID-19. A replacement event took place in Sioux Falls, S.D. with many of the same teams, but the Shockers had to withdraw when two players tested positive during a pre-tournament COVID screening.
• Wichita State took third-place in the 2021 Roman Main Event in Las Vegas. Both games had memorable finishes. Against an Arizona team that would eventually go on to earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, WSU rallied from 16 down in the second half before falling in overtime. The Shockers staged a similar second-half comeback against UNLV in the consolation game. Down a point, Tyson Etienne drew a foul near midcourt with 3.5 seconds remaining and sank two game-winning free throws.
• The Shockers are also coming off a third place finish at the 2023 Myrtle Beach Invitational. Wichita State fell to Liberty in the semifinals before bouncing back to defeat Saint Louis in the third place game.
• A year ago, Wichita State used Harlond Beverly's game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime in the opening game vs. Minnesota. The Shockers would hang on for a thrilling 68-66 win in OT on Thanksgiving Day. In the title game, Wichita State squared off with the eventual National Champions, Florida. The Gators dominated from start-to-finish, cruising to an 88-51 win to claim the ESPN Events Invitational crown.

Lewis was just the second ever Gael to win WCC Sixth Man of the Year last year. The three preseason all-conference honorees were the most of any team in the West Coast Conference.

A former 5-star recruit, Avdalas is second on the team in scoring aat 15.2 points per game, while leading the Hokies in assists at nearly 6.0 per game. KG THE BUCKET
• Kenyon Giles leads the team in scoring at nearly 20 points per game through the first five games of the season. He has three 20-point games so far in November, becoming the first Shocker since Markis McDuffie in 2018 to have three 20-point performances in the month of November.
• Giles ranks 28th nationally in true shooting percentage at 75.3% and 30th in effective FG Pct. at 73.7%. His true shooting percentage is 2nd among all players in the American Conference, just slightly behind Charlotte's Anton Bonke at 74.3 percent.

FROM BEHIND THE ARC AND BEYOND

• To put that into perspective, Giles is only 15 three-pointers away from matching the Shockers' three-point leader from a season ago (Xavier Bell - 35).
• Michael Gray Jr. went 0-for-2 from deep in the season opener, but has cashed in11 of his last 23 (47.8 percent).

PROTECT THE ROCK
• Lost in the shuffle during Wichita State's shooting display against Loyola Chicago, the Shockers committed only two turnovers in the game, tying the single game school record for fewest turnovers. The Shockers had two vs. Cincinnati on Jan. 5, 2023 and at Southern Illinois on Feb. 9, 1981.
• Wichita State finished the game with 17 assists on 33 made field goals. The assist-to-turnover ratio of 17:2 (8.50) also tied a single game school record.

POINTS ON POINTS ON POINTS
• The Shocker offense fired on all cylinders, putting up back-to-back games of 105 and 95 points in wins over Prairie View A&M and Loyola Chicago. The 200 combined points in consecutive games are the most since Wichita State scored 218 in back-to-back games against Bradley (116) and Indiana State (102) in 1988.

WELCOME TO DUNK STREET
• Emmanuel Okorafor's dunk with 3:00 left in the first half vs. Milwaukee on Nov. 22 extended Wichita State's streak of games with at least one dunk to 39 in a row - a new school record. The streak began on Nov. 4, 2024 at Western Kentucky.

CENTURY MARK

He's the first Shocker freshman to post a double-double since Dexter Dennis on March 15, 2019 vs. Temple. No Shocker has had a game with these numbers in the last 25 years.
• He is the first freshman in American Conference history to have a 10-10-5 game, while going 10-for-10 at the free throw line.
• Williams is only the 5th freshman to record a 10-10-5 game and shoot 100% at the free throw line in American Conference history, joining Houston's Jarace Walker (March 24, 2023), UCF's Taylor Hendricks (Dec. 21, 2022), UConn's Christian Vital (Jan. 28, 2017) and ECU's Kentrell Barkley (Jan. 27, 2016).
• Since 2007, only one other freshman, nationally, has posted a 10-10-5 and 10-for-10 free throw game in the NCAA. That was Campbell's Jonathan Rodriguez on Feb. 8, 2007 vs. Stetson.
