Preview: Shockers Head to Memphis for Road Test

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Wichita State will conclude its five-match road stretch with duals against No. 35 Memphis and No. 55 SMU at the MUS School in Memphis, Tenn.
 
STATE OF THE SHOCKERS
The Shockers are on a five-match losing skid and are looking to pick up their first win over a ranked team this season.
 
Alejandro Jacome leads the team in singles wins with a 12-6 record since joining the team in January, picking up wins at courts two through four.
 
The Shockers are 8-1 in matches where they won the doubles point. Kristof Minarik and Alex Richards hold the best doubles record for the Shockers, going 7-4 at No. 1, while Misha Kvantaliani and Orel Ovil carry a 7-5 record at court two.
 
Last match out, Tulsa swept the Shockers, 7-0, in Tulsa.
 
Wichita state is 1-8 on the road and 1-2 in neutral site matches.
 
SCOUTING NO. 35 MEMPHIS
Memphis are 2-5 against ranked opponents, earning a win over No. 13 Northwestern in late February.
 
Harry Rock leads the Tigers in singles victories with an 11-1 record and remains undefeated at court 5 (7-0).
 
No. 69-ranked Pablo Alemany has played every singles match at court one and holds a 6-6 record at the top line.
 
Jeremy Taylor and David Stevenson are ranked 79th in doubles with a 4-3 record.
 
The Tigers have won the doubles point in nine of their 15 matches.
 
Memphis is undefeated on its home courts.
 
SCOUTING NO. 55 SMU
The Mustangs are 3-8 against ranked opponents and 0-3 in neutral site matches.
 
The team is on a three-match losing streak with with all three losses coming from ranked opponents.
 
No. 66-ranked Adam Neff leads SMU in singles wins with a 10-2 record, going 9-2 at No. 1.
 
Neff has teamed up with Pranav Kumar to earn a No. 57 doubles ranking with aa 9-6 record.
