Wichita State held its 10th-annual Gold Carpet Awards on Monday night, recognizing student-athletes from all 15 varsity sports teams for their outstanding achievements on the playing field and in the classroom over the past 12 months.
 
Here is a list of the 2022-23 award winners:
 
Shocker Medallion: This award goes out to graduating seniors that graduated this fall or are graduating this spring or summer with a 3.8 GPA or higher.

Academic Male and Female Awards: This award goes out to the graduating student-athlete with the highest overall GPA.

Shocker Impact Award: This award is given to the student-athlete or team that has made significant contributions to Wichita State and the community through service.

Shocker Spirit Award: This award is for a student-athlete who shows relentless support for all Shocker athletic teams and their teammates by always displaying positive energy and enthusiasm.

>>> Madyson Espinosa, Softball
 
Comeback Athlete of the Year Award: This award is presented to a student-athlete who has made the most significant, profound or impressive comeback from serious illness, injury or personal hardship.

Male and Female Workhouse Awards: This award is presented to student-athletes that display exceptional commitment to strength and conditioning.

>>> Trajata Colbert, Women's Basketball
 
Male and Female Newcomer of the Year: This award is for a male and female newcomer student-athlete that has made a significant athletic impact to their program, garnered individual accolades, and has achieved exceptional athletic success.

>>> Lauren Howell, Softball
 
Male and Female Athlete of the Year Award: This award is for a male and female student-athlete that receives the highest athletic honors and achieves exceptional athletic success.

Male and Female Career Athlete Award: This award goes to the male and female student-athlete who has had an extraordinary career for Wichita State Athletics.

Mr. and Ms. Shocker Award: This award goes out to a senior man and a senior woman who display all-around excellence in Athletics, Academics, Character, Service, and Personal Development.

Moment of the Year Award: This award is for the most memorable or special moment from the 2022 Gold Carpet Awards to this year's Gold Carpet Awards.
 
>>> 2022 Men's outdoor track and field AAC champions
 
Performance of the Year Award: This award is for the most outstanding individual or team performance from the 2022 Gold Carpet Awards to this year's Gold Carpet Awards.
 
>>> Addie Barnard breaks the program's all-time home run record of 58 home runs, doing so in just 127 games while it was previously set in 245 games. She has an average of 0.63 home runs per game in 2023 which sets an NCAA mark.
