4/11/2023 4:56:00 PM

Wichita State's Craig Porter Jr. will take part in the Portsmouth Invitational (PIT), Apr. 12-15 in Portsmouth, Va.

Now in its 69th year, the PIT is a four-day, 12-game tournament that offers top college seniors the chance to showcase their skills in front of professional scouts, including representatives from all 30 NBA teams.

The list of PIT alumni includes NBA legends Rick Barry, Earl 'The Pearl' Monroe, Dave Cowens, John Stockton and Scottie Pippen. Past Shockers at the PIT include Markis McDuffie (2019), Shaquille Morris (2018), Darius Carter (2015), Carl Hall (2013), Garrett Stutz (2012) and Paul Miller (2006).

Fans can watch live streaming of all games through the event's website -- portsmouthinvitational.com.

Porter's team, Mike Duman Auto Sales, is guaranteed three games. The first is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday evening. A win moves them into Friday's 6 p.m. CT semifinal. A loss drops them into the consolation bracket (Thursday, 2:15 p.m. CT). The event concludes Saturday with a placement round.

The 6-foot-2 Porter earned third team all-conference honors this year in The American. He averaged 13.6 points and ranked among the league's top-10 in blocks (3rd, 1.94), assists (4th, 4.9) and steals (8th, 1.52).

A total of 64 players were chosen to compete. Porter is one three from the American Athletic Conference, joined by a couple of Memphis Tigers, DeAndre Williams (who will play alongside Porter) and Kendric Davis.
