WICHITA – Registration is open for the Wichita State dance team's upcoming skills clinics. Clinic dates are set for Sunday, April 23 and Sunday, May 7.
Â
The first clinic will be held in Charles Koch Arena, while the second will take place in the Heskett Center.
Â
"Our dance clinics are held to assist dancers in strengthening their skills for any upcoming tryout process," head coach
Kate Stybr said. "Whether the goal is to audition for the Shocker Dancers or another college or high school team, we are excited to have you dance with us!"
Â
Each clinic will be held in the same format but will feature different choreography and combinations. Clinics will begin with a guided warm-up and stretch and move into technical skill work. Dancers will then learn a sideline stinger the Shocker Dancers perform on court, which features strong motions and big movements. Next, dancers will have the opportunity to learn a short routine which showcases a wide variety of styles (each clinic will be a different routine). Finally, the clinics will wrap up with a Q&A session with current members of the Shocker dance team and coaching staff.
Â
Payment will be made upon check-in on clinic day. Walk-ins are welcome.
