PEORIA, Ill. – Both Wichita State cross country teams placed top five at the Bradley Pink Classic with four top-20 individual finishes Friday afternoon at Newman Golf Course.

Knocking off four teams ranked top 15 in the Midwest Region, including Midwest No. 3 Drake, the Shocker men (Midwest No. 10) placed third in the 8K Red Race with 154 points.

Trey Rios led Wichita State with a 10
th-place finish, crossing the line in 24:37.0.
Adam Rzentkowski (18
th; 24:43.7) and
Jackson Caldwell (19
th; 24:44.0) also ran sub-25 minutes, and
Cesar Ramirez (54
th; 25:11.3) and
Zander Cobb (55
th; 25:11.5) finished back-to-back to round out the top five for the Shockers.

IUPUI (Great Lakes No. 13) won the team title with 118 points with Illinois (Midwest No. 6) coming in second with 121 points.

Without two-time American Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week,
Lucy Ndungu, racing,
Miranda Dick led the Shocker women to a fifth-place team finish, placing 17
th individually in a personal-best 21:30.60.
Lubna Aldulaimi also ran a new personal best, finishing 41
st in 22:00.2, while
Sarah Bertry (47
th; 22:03.3),
Isabelle Hartnett (87
th; 22:34.0) and
Jenna Muma (22:35.3) completed the scoring for the Shockers.

The Shockers (Midwest No. 10) defeated three regionally-ranked Midwest Region teams, including Midwest No. 3 Northwestern and Midwest No. 6 Drake. North Dakota State won the team title with 126 points.

The Shockers will now prepare for the American Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Greenville, N.C..
