USAF ACADEMY, Colo./AMES, Iowa – The majority of the Wichita State track and field team heads to Colorado to compete in the Ralph Lindeman Invitational, while the distance runners travel to Ames, Iowa for the Cyclone Open.

Air Force is playing host to Wichita State, BYU, Cal Poly, Colorado, Long Beach State and Sacramento State Thursday through Saturday, beginning with the multi-event competitions.

The Shockers are sending six men and four women to compete in the heptathlon and pentathlon. Reigning American Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor multi-event champion Adria Navajon is set for his first multi of the season after running a personal-best 8.06 in the 60-meter hurdles a week ago at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular to open his season. Destiny Masters looks to improve upon her 3,795-point pentathlon score from her Shocker Multi win in early December and enters the competition with the best seed mark.

Joseph Holthusen returns to the track where he ran his personal-best 60-meter hurdles time of 7.74 that qualified him to the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships. Holthusen (60h), Jaleel Montgomery (60m), Joakim Genereux (200m) and Chidera Okoro (LJ) are all coming off event victories in Topeka and will have the opportunity to repeat and improve on their times.

Distance coach Kirk Hunter is taking five men and five women to compete in the Cyclone Open. Adrian Diaz-Lopez will run the mile after his meet record-breaking performance in the 3,000 meters last week. Clayton Duchatschek will toe the line in his first 3,000-meter race of the season, an event he ranks seventh all-time in program history in. Farrah Miller will make her 800-meter debut this week after winning the 600 yards at the KU-KSU-WSU Triangular.
