Foster Strengthens Lineup with Semester Addition

1/11/2023 4:35:00 PM

The Wichita State tennis team will have another new face when practice resumes later this week.

Head coach Colin Foster announced the midseason addition of German standout Marlene Förster to the Shocker roster. She'll be a freshman this spring with four seasons of edibility remaining.

Foster said:

"Marlene has a wealth of international playing experience with many strong results. She is eager and hungry to build on a solid foundation and work toward professional tennis. Her recruitment went quickly, but she immediately clicked with the coaching staff and her future teammates. We're excited to get her on campus in January."

The Shockers open their spring season Saturday, Jan. 21 at Kansas and make their home debut Sunday, Jan. 22 against Oral Roberts on the Wichita Country Club indoor courts.
