HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – A memorable two-year run at Marshall was recognized Saturday for a member of the Shockers' women's tennis staff.

Wichita State women's tennis assistant coach Michaela Kissell-Eddins was named to the 2026 Marshall Athletics Hall of Fame, celebrating her standout two-year career with the Thundering Herd.

"I am very grateful to Marshall for this wonderful honor, and celebrating it with my family was so special. A lot of years of hard work went into becoming the player I was while competing in college, and it was especially rewarding for me to have my kids there seeing their mom being recognized in that way. I will always cherish the memories I made during my playing days, and I am very lucky to still be in the game I love as a coach and get to share what I have learned with our team," Kissell-Eddins said.

In two seasons at Marshall, Kissell-Eddins quickly made a name for herself. She made consecutive NCAA Singles Tournament appearances during her time with the Herd while also advancing to the NCAA Doubles Tournament with partner Dominika Zapranza. Kissell-Eddins' first season with Marshall in 2010 resulted in her being named Conference USA Newcomer of the Year and earning First Team All-Conference USA honors in both singles and doubles. She also claimed the ITA Atlantic Region title in singles and doubles with Zapranza that year. During her senior campaign, she earned ITA Atlantic Region Senior of the Year and ITA All-American Scholar Athlete honors while climbing to No. 27 in singles and No. 15 in doubles. Kissell-Eddins closed out her career with the Herd with a combined singles and doubles record of 110-41. During her senior season, she went untouched in doubles, going 19-0, which helped lead the Thundering Herd to its highest team ranking in program history at No. 28. Her accomplishments extended beyond the court, earning the C-USA Sprint Service Award in her junior year and the C-USA Academic Medal of Honor in both her junior and senior years.

Her success as a player paved the way for a coaching career that has brought her to Wichita State. In her first season with the Shockers, Kissell-Eddins helped the program to a 19-match winning streak, surpassing the program record of 17 consecutive matches set a decade ago. She also helped the Shockers earn five American Conference Player of the Week honors, which is the most the program has seen since 2018. Kissell-Eddins helped the Shockers reach the 2026 American Conference Championship for the first time in program history. Her NCAA Tournament experience came full circle this past season, when Kissell-Eddins returned to the NCAA stage as a coach, marking the Shockers' 13^th appearance in program history.

Before her coaching career at Wichita State, Kissell-Eddins served as assistant coach at Cornell (2011-12), assistant and interim head coach at Pittsburgh (2012-13), and head coach at Western Carolina (2013-18), where she led the program to a record of 12 wins in 2016 and its first winning season since 1997. She later served as a volunteer assistant at West Virginia (2022-23), helping the Mountaineers to 11 wins.
