Four Wichita State women's tennis players are set to take part in this weekend's Tulsa Invitational, Friday through Sunday at the University of Tulsa's Case Tennis Complex.
Â
Harriet Hamilton,
Kristina Kudryavtseva,
Natsumi Kurahashi and
Clara Whitaker will compete in a series of unbracketed matches against opponents from Arkansas, Louisiana Tech, Northern Arizona and Tulsa.
Â
Action begins at 2 p.m. Friday.
Â
"The Fall season is so important for player development, and we're off to a good start," head coach
Colin Foster said. "These matches will test us, but as long as we compete well and have the right mentality entering each match, we will keep growing and getting stronger."
Â
Jessica Anzo and Lingwei Kong have the weekend off after competing in last week's PTT $25k Lawrence. Anzo won the second-place playoff with a 5-1 mark.
Â
The Tulsa Invitational marks the Shockers' first ITA sanctioned action of the season and the first matches that count toward official records and rankings.
