WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State junior shortstop
Sydney McKinney has been named to the final American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced Monday afternoon.
In three games last week, McKinney was 6-for-10 (.600 Avg.) at the plate with a home run, two walks, two RBI and three runs. She recorded multi-hit games in all three games vs. UCF, while extending her hitting streak to 13 straight games. She sits just four hits away from tying her own single season record for hits. McKinney set the record a season ago at 87 and enters postseason play at 83 for the season. She raised her season batting average to an eye-popping .497 to go with 13 home runs and 37 RBI - all three are career highs.
This is the second weekly honor for McKinney in 2022 after being named Player of the Week on Feb. 21.
