WICHITA, Kan. – Cowley College defeated Wichita State 15-11 in a 16-inning exhibition game at Eck Stadium.

Xavier Casserilla led the Shockers going 2-for-5 with four RBI and a home run, while
Chuck Ingram went 3-for-5 with three doubles.

The Tigers jumped on the board quickly in the top of the first. Bryce Madron led off with a triple off the right field wall and with one out David Herring singled to right center to drive in Madron for the early 1-0 lead.

Cowley added another run in the second. Blake Mitchell led off with a double down the left field line and scored on a two-out single from Logan Vaughan to push the lead to 2-0.

The Shockers cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second.
Chuck Ingram led off with a double to right-center and scored on a single by Xavier Casserilla to cut the lead to 2-1.

Cowley used three hits in the fourth to plate four runs to take a 5-1 lead. The Shockers responded with two in the sixth and two in the seventh to tie it at five.

The Tigers retook the lead in the eighth, but WSU answered with an RBI single by
Garrett Kocis to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth.

The Shockers took the lead 7-6 with a RBI single from Payton Tolle in the bottom of the ninth, but the Tigers scored seven unanswered to go in front 13-7 after 12 ½ innings. The Shockers got one back in the bottom of the 13
th on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 13-8.

Cowley added two more in the 14
th before the Shockers used RBI singles from
Jordan Rogers and Brock Rodden and a bases loaded walk from Tolle to pull within 15-11 in the 15
th.

The Shockers are next in action on Mon., Sept. 27 when they host Team Canada at 4 p.m. at Eck Stadium.
