WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State junior forward Asia Strong has been named an American Athletic All-Conference Second Team honoree, it was announced Sunday afternoon.

Strong, a South Bend, Ind., native led Wichita State in scoring at 15.4 points per game and also averaged 5.9 rebounds a game.

Her three 20-point outings were tops on the team, including a season-high 22 points and 13 rebounds in a double overtime contest vs. Northern Iowa on Dec. 6.

She has a team-leading 15 games of 10 or more points this season, including a current streak of 11 in a row. In league play, Strong ranked fourth in scoring (15.4 ppg) and free throw percentage (80.0 percent) and fifth in field goal percentage (42.6 percent).

Strong is the second Shocker to collect Second Team All-Conference honors since Rangie Bessard in 2017-18. Mariah McCully was tabbed a Third Team All-Conference member last season.

Wichita State opens American Athletic Conference Championship play Monday vs. Tulsa at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
