THE AMERICAN ON ESPN+
The American Athletic Conference is in its first season of a new TV deal that will see a majority of Wichita State's games televised on ESPN+. Fans can find more information and how to subscribe to ESPN+ here.

A CASE OF THE 'RONA
COVID-19 has wrecked havoc on the 2020-21 Wichita State women's basketball program. To date, the Shockers have had seven games postponed due to positive tests within the program. The Shockers are coming off a pause in all team-related activities due to a lack of players available that saw games against ECU, Memphis and USF all postponed. As of now, Wichita State's two matchups vs. SMU are the only contests that will not be made up, due to the Mustangs canceling the remainder of their season.

LAST TIME OUT
Wichita State dropped a tight contest with Tulane on Wednesday, falling 57-55 in the final seconds. Seraphine Bastin registered her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 13 rebounds, while also dishing five assists. Trajata Colbert tallied her first double-double of the season with 11 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. It's the first time since Feb. 26, 2018 that two Shockers recorded a double-double in the same game. Asia Strong scored seven of her 11 points after halftime and Mariah McCully finished with 11 off the bench in her first game since Jan. 2. Wichita State was a season-best plus-14 on the glass.

STRONG START
Wichita State junior forward Asia Strong is off to fast start in her first season at Wichita State. The South Bend, Ind., native has scored 10 or more points in 10 of the team's 11 games, including two games of 20 or more. In Wichita State's six league games, she has scored 11 or more in every game and is averaging 15.0 points. Strong set a season high in points and rebounds vs. UNI on Dec. 6 with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Strong leads Wichita State in scoring at 15.2 points per game for the season, which ranks fourth in the American Athletic Conference. Her 45.9% shooting also ranks fourth in the league.

SCOUTING THE OWLS
Temple enters the matchup at 6-7 overall and 6-4 in The American. The Owls own league wins against SMU, Tulsa, ECU, UCF, Wichita State and Cincinnati. Senior forward and Co-Preseason Player of the Year Mia Davis averages nearly a double-double for Temple with 18.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Davis ranks second in the AAC in points per game, third in total points, double-doubles, free throws made, free throw attempts and fourth in rebounds and field goals made. Sophomore guard Asonah Alexander dishes out 5.7 assists a game - good for third in the AAC. She's also second in blocked shots.

THE SERIES VS. TEMPLE
Wichita State and Temple have met eight times prior to Saturday's matchup, with Wichita State winning the last two of the last three meetings. Wichita State swept the regular season series with the Owls a season ago. The first ever meeting came all the way back in Nov. 1983 on a nuetral court that Temple won, 83-79. Wichita State is 2-1 vs. the Owls in Wichita. Temple won the first meeting this season just two weeks ago in Philadelphia.

LAST MEETING
Wichita State suffered a 65-55 defeat at Temple just two weeks ago on Jan. 23 in Philadelphia. Wichita State led by as many as nine in the game and by four after three quarters, but the Owls outscored the Shockers 20-6 in the final quarter to secure the come-from-behind win. Asia Strong scored a team-high 17 points an Trajata Colbert added 13 points and five rebounds. Wichita State shot 36.1 percent from the field, but only attempted six free throws in the game compared to Temple's 24. Temple's ability to get to the free throw line offset a poor shooting performance from three-point range where they made only 5-of-21 attempts. Temple's Jasha Clinton tallied a game-high 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting.

SHOCKERS ADD WALK-ON
Wichita State added some roster depth over the holiday break in the addition of walk-on Mariah McKinney. McKinney is a Wichita native having played her prep basketball at nearby Wichita East High School. Most recently she completed a season at Fort Scott Community College in 2018-19. McKinney played in 27 contests for the Greyhounds and averaged 5.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

STRONG LANDS THIRD HONOR ROLL SELECTION
Junior forward Asia Strong picked up her third American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll selection on Feb. 1. She scored a team-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting to go with four rebounds in Wichita State's win at Cincinnati on Jan. 27. Strong also tied a season best in three-pointers made with three (3-of-5). The win snapped the Shockers' six-game losing streak. Strong and Seraphine Bastin are the only Shockers to earn weekly honors so far this season.

A SHOCKER WIN WOULD...
... make them 5-7 on the season
... make them 2-5 in conference play
... make them 4-5 all-time vs. Temple
... split the regular season series in 2021
... run Adams' career coaching record to 458-303
... make Adams 331-266 at the Division I level
... make them 378-240 all-time in Charles Koch Arena
... make Wichita State 617-705 all-time

A SHOCKER LOSS WOULD...
... make them 4-8 this the season
... make them 1-6 in conference play
... drop them to 3-6 all-time vs. Temple
... give Temple the regular season sweep
... lower Adams' career coaching record to 457-304
... make Adams 330-267 at the Division I level
... make them 377-241 all-time in Charles Koch Arena
... make Wichita State 616-706 all-time

DOUBLE-DOUBLE UP
Juniors Seraphine Bastin and Trajata Colbert both logged double-doubles in Wichita State's contest vs. Tulane on Feb. 3. Bastin scored a team-high 14 points to go with 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Colbert pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds to go with 11 points. It was her first double-double of the season and third career. The duo became the first Shocker teammates to record a double-double in the same game since Feb. 26, 2018 at Tulsa when Rangie Bessard and Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage accomplished the feat.
