Neleigh Herring and redshirt senior
Bailey Lange both earned a spot on the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after their performance at the Scrap Yard Blizzard Challenge over the weekend.
Herring was solid at the plate, going 6-for-11 (.545 avg.) with a home run, four doubles, four runs scored and six RBI in four games. She went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double in the season opener vs. Tarleton State, and followed that with three doubles and three RBI in a 19-0 run-rule of Lamar.
Lange made two appearances in the circle (one start) and went 1-0 with a 1.45 ERA, 12 strikeouts, no walks in 9.2 innings of work. She threw a complete game vs. Tarleton State, while striking out nine batters.Â
Wichita State is back in action this weekend when the Shockers host Creighton for a three-game series on Saturday and Sunday. The Shockers and Bluejays will play a doubleheader on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
