WICHITA, Kan. -Â Wichita State makes the quick trip south to Tulsa to face the Golden Hurricane on Sunday at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Wichita State dropped the regular season series with SMU for the first time since joining the American Athletic Conference following the Mustangs' 72-67 win in Charles Koch Arena Wednesday night. SMU's 51.9% shooting from the field was a season high for an opponent.
Mariah McCully scored a game-high 19 points to go with a season-high four assists. She has now scored 10 or more in 17 straight games.
Carla Bremaud hit three three-pointers in the third quarter and finished with 14 points.
Trajata Colbert registered a career-high 13 points off the bench.
Seraphine Bastin added eight points, six rebounds and seven assists.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN HURRICANE
Tulsa enters the matchup at 7-19 overall and 2-11 in league play. Wichita State defeated Tulsa in the first meeting back on Jan. 15, 57-46, in Wichita. The Shockers erased a 13-point halftime deficit in the victory. Wichita native Kendrian Elliott leads Tulsa in scoring (12.9), rebounding (8.3) and blocks (38), while shooting 52.0% from the field. Her field goal percentage ranks 3rd in the AAC and just outside the top 50 nationally. Alexis Gaulden dishes out a team-best 4.4 assists per game, good for 4th in the league, and her 2.05 steals a game rank sixth in The American. Tulsa sits right behind Wichita State in the steals category with 234 on the season.
THE SERIES VS. TULSA
Wichita State and Tulsa have met 22 times, dating all the way back to the first meeting on March 2, 1978. The Shockers own an 18-4 record vs. Tulsa and an 8-2 mark in Tulsa. Wichita State had won nine straight meetings before the two programs became league members again in 2017. Wichita State has lost two straight in Tulsa.
LAST MEETING
Wichita State erased a 13-point halftime deficit last month when the two teams squared off in Wichita. The Shockers trailed 16-4 after the first quarter and 28-15 at the half before storming back to win by double digits, 57-46. Wichita State committed 21 turnovers and finished just 3-of-11 from three-point range, but its defense came up big in the second half. They held Tulsa below the 30 percent mark from the field and 6-of-20 from deep. Three Shockers finished in double figures, led by

ABOUT THE GOLDEN HURRICANE
Located in Tulsa, Okla., Tulsa University has an enrollment of 4,412 as a member of the American Athletic Conference. Tulsa returns 10 letterwinners and four starters off last year's squad that finished 13-18 and 6-10 in The American. The Hurricane were picked to finish 10th by the league's coaches in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll. Wichita native Kendrian Elliott is a senior for the Golden Hurricane after finishing her prep career at Wichita South High School. Head Coach Matilda Mossman is in her ninth season leading the Golden Hurricane, and has a career record of 259-252 after 17 seasons at Arkansas, Kansas State and now Tulsa. Mossman took over a five-win team and in just her second year won a conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Mossman led Tulsa to an 18-14 mark in 2014-15, the school's first winning season since 2006. They advanced to the WNIT Second Round during that season.

BREMAUD APPROACHES 500 CAREER POINTSÂ
Wichita State sophomore guard
Carla Bremaud is just five points away from 500 for her career through her first two seasons as a Shocker. She is the active career scoring leader for Wichita State and is averaging 9.0 points per game in the 55 games she's suited up. Bremaud is on pace to become the 21st Shocker to score 1,000 career points in the Black & Yellow.
MCCULLY NABS SECOND HONOR ROLL SELECTIONÂ
Junior guard
Mariah McCully picked up her second American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll selection on Monday, Feb. 17. McCully averaged 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 5.0 steals in Wichita State's two games last week against Memphis and Tulane. In her first game back after missing three straight due to injury, McCully scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed a season-best seven rebounds vs. Memphis. She went 9-for-13 at the free throw line, which were also season highs. To wrap up the week, she scored 19 points and swiped a season-high seven steals in the one-point win at Tulane.
DISH IT OUT
Wichita State handed out a season-high 21 assists at Temple on Feb. 5. Sophomore
Seraphine Bastin had a season-high eight and senior
Ashley Reid added six. The 21 assists were the most since dishing out 26 vs. Temple in Feb. 2018.
OH MY MARIAH
Junior Mariah McCully has been on a scoring tear for the Shockers this season. She has scored 10 or more in 17 consecutive games, and is averaging 15.2 points per game during the streak, including two 20-point outings. Her scoring streak is the longest since Rangie Bessard scored 10-plus in 26 straight games as a senior in 2017-18. McCully's 18 games of 10 or more points this season rank first on the team and she is Wichita State's leading scorer on the year at 13.9 per game. The Shockers have three 20-point outings this season, two of which belong to McCully.
REBOUNDING IS THE KEY
When Wichita State wins the rebound battle, the outcome has been positive this season. The Shockers are 10-1 when winning the battle of the boards and 4-11 when they don't. In Wichita State's 14 wins this season, the Shockers are outrebounding their opponents by an average of 4.5 boards a game and grabbing 37.4 in those games. In the 11 losses, they average only 34.2 rebounds and are outrebounded by 5.6.
TURNOVER TULANEÂ
Wichita State set a season high with 17 steals and forced 26 turnovers - the second most this season. Wichita State has recorded 12 or more steals eight times this season. It was the 13th time forcing 20 or more turnovers.
Mariah McCully was responsible for seven of the team's 17 steals - the most since TaQuandra Mike had seven against Northern Iowa on Jan. 1, 2017.
