WICHITA—The Intrasquad Meet returns next week for its 14th annual installment for the Wichita State track and field program, Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
Steve Rainbolt announced Friday.
The annual contest typically kicks off the indoor season for the Shockers, but serves as a third and final scrimmage of the fall semester in 2020.
Three different teams (Yellow, Black and White) square off annually. When athletes arrive on campus, they are drafted to a team and remain on that team until they graduate. This year's first overall pick went to the White team who chose
Jaleel Montgomery.
The Yellow squad has been outright dominant since the inception of the event. It has won 10 times, including the past six years. White has won the meet twice, while the Black team has come away the victor only once.
The top four places in each individual event will score (5-3-2-1) while relays will be worth double points this year (10-6-4-2).
This year's Intrasquad contest is spread throughout the week of Nov. 16. Fans are not allowed at the meet this year, but can follow along with updates on Twitter (@GoShockersTFXC) and on Facebook (Wichita State Track and Field).
