WICHITA, Kan. -Â Wichita State is set for a Sunday matinee against the Temple Owls, who enter the matchup winners of five in a row.

Wichita State scored 100 points in its victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday, Dec. 16, marking the first time since 1999 the Shockers have reached the century mark. It is only the sixth time in program history that a Wichita State team has put 100 points on the scoreboard. They are 6-0 all-time when scoring 100-plus.
LAST TIME OUT
Wichita State won its second straight game after erasing a 13-point halftime deficit vs. Tulsa Wednesday night. The double-digit comeback marked the largest of the
Keitha Adams era. Wichita State set season lows for points in a quarter (4 - 1st Qtr) and first half points (15).
Carla Bremaud and
Seraphine Bastin both scored a team-high 13 points. Both 10 or more of their points after halftime. Bremaud also tied her career high with six boards.
Mariah McCully ran her streak of double-figure outings to 11 in a row after notching 11. She also tallied three steals, making it six straight games with multiple.
Asia Henderson pulled down a team-high eight rebounds - the third consecutive game with seven or more.
SCOUTING THE OWLS
Temple enters the matchup at 11-6 overall and 4-1 in league play. The Owls own league wins over Tulsa, Houston, SMU and USF, while their lone loss came against UConn. Mia Davis averages a double-double at 19.4 points and 10.7 rebounds per game to lead the Owls. Ashley Jones (16.1) and Marissa Mackins (13.2) also average double figures, while Asonah Alexander averages 5.1 assists a contest. Davis ranks first in The American in rebounds, free throws made, double-doubles; second in free throw attempts; and third in points per game. Her 11 double-doubles put her third nationally and 10.7 rebounds a game 14th. Alexander tops the conference in assists and assist-turnover ratio, while Mackins is the league's best 3-point shooter in terms of 3-pointers made and attempted.
THE SERIES VS. TEMPLE
Wichita State and Temple have met five times prior to Sunday's matchup with the Owls taking four of the first five contests. Temple has won the last three meetings, including a season sweep in 2019. Wichita State is 1-1 vs. Temple in Charles Koch Arena with its lone win coming in 2018, an 88-81 victory on Valentine's Day. The Shockers will make the return trip to Philadelphia next month on Feb. 5.
LAST MEETING
Wichita State and Temple met for the second time in 2019 - the Shockers' first-ever visit to Philadelphia. Temple won 68-52, extending its win streak to three in a row over Wichita State. Wichita State made just 1-of-13 three-point attempts and shot 37.3 percent overall. Temple knocked down 10 three-pointers in the contest behind its three-headed attack of Alliya Butts, Marissa Mackins and Mia Davis. The trio combined to score 46 of Temple's 68 points.
Maya Brewer came off the bench to score a then-career high of 12 points in only 15 minutes. She was the lone Shocker in double figures.
Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds.
ABOUT THE OWLS
Located in Philadelphia, Pa., Temple University has an enrollment of 41,000 as a member of the American Athletic Conference. Temple returns eight letterwinners and four starters off last year's squad that finished 11-19 and 7-9 in The American. The Owls were picked to finish sixth by the league's coaches in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll. Mia Davis was selected by the coaches to the Preseason All-Conference First Team. Head Coach Tonya Cardoza is Temple's all-time winningest coach with a career record of 222-153, now in her 12th season with the Owls. Cardoza has led Temple to seven postseason berths, including four NCAA Tournament appearances and a spot in WNIT Final Four. She is a two-time conference Coach of the Year and in 2017 was one of 10 finalists for WBCA National Coach of the Year honors. Prior to taking over the Temple program, Cardoza spent 14 season under Geno Auriemma at UConn.
SHOCKERS MAKE AMERICAN RECORD BOOKÂ
In Wichita State's 100-50 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday, Dec. 16, the Shockers tied the conference single-game record with 36 made free throws, going a collective 36-of-45 (80 percent) from the charity stripe. That performance draws even with USF's 36 foul shots against UCF on Jan. 5, 2016. WSU finished one make shy of the top mark in school history (37, in 2005).

BEST DECADE YET
Wichita State's win over Grambling State on Dec. 30 was the final contest of 2019 and decade for the Shocker basketball program. It signaled the end of the most successful 10-year run in program history, as Wichita State compiled 182 wins over the decade, which included three MVC Regular Season and Tournament Championships, three NCAA Appearances, 12 all-conference selections and one All-American and WNBA Draft Pick in future Shocker Hall of Famer Alex Harden.
OH MY MARIAH
Junior Mariah McCully has been on a tear recently for the Shockers. Over her last 11 games, McCully is averaging 14.4 points with outputs of 13 at Missouri State and Tulane, 25 vs. Eastern Michigan, 14 at Creighton, 17 vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 10 against Montana State and Virginia Tech, 18 vs. Grambling, 16 at UConn and 11 at ECU and vs. Tulsa. Her 12 games of 10 or more points this season rank first on the team and she is Wichita State's leading scorer on the year at 12.7 per game. McCully has played in 15 games this season and her lowest scoring total was five points at Louisiana Tech. On the defensive side of the ball, McCully has been a pest to opposing offenses. She has recorded multiple steals in nine of the last 10 games, including four or more three times. In those 10 games, she is averaging 3.0 steals a contest.
ASIA'S REBOUNDING TEAR
Redshirt sophomore center
Asia Henderson has been a rebounding machine over the last three games for Wichita State. The 6-foot-3 center has grabbed eight or more in each of those games and now ranks second on the team in rebounds for the season. She had eight against Tulane and Tulsa and nine at ECU. Her 6.8 rebounds a game in conference play lead the team.
UAPB LEFTOVERS
Wichita State's big win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 16 was a career day for several Shockers.

Ashley Reid scored a game-high tying and career-high 17 points. It marked just the third time in her Shocker career scoring 10 or more points. Reid also set career bests in free throws made (8), attempted (9), assists (7), rebounds (4) and steals (3).

Maya Brewer registered a career-high 16 points, while going a career-best 7-of-9 from the free throw line.
• Junior
Mariah McCully topped the 10-point mark for the fourth straight game with a game-high tying 17 points to go with a career-high six rebounds. She was perfect from the free throw line, going 8-for-8 - both career bests.
• Junior
Vendela Danielsson recorded her first career points as a Shocker, tallying all 10 after halftime on 3-of-7 shooting from long range.
• Redshirt sophomore
Asia Henderson just missed her first career double-double with eight points and a personal-best 12 rebounds. Henderson also blocked a career-high five shots.
• Redshirt freshman
Natalia Ryng checked in for the first time as a Shocker and finished with two points in 10 minutes.

The votes are in. Wichita State women's basketball will feature three team captains in 2019-20 - senior
Ashley Reid and sophomores
Seraphine Bastin and
Trajata Colbert. Selected by their teammates, the trio will be looked upon to lead the Shocker basketball program for the remainder of the campaign.
