This past week the Wichita State Dance Team traveled to Northwest Missouri State to NDA College Dance Camp.
Â
The team worked on team building, learning new dances and perfecting their skills. They earned All-American honors and one of the dancers was invited to join the NDA staff. In addition, they earned a superior ranking in game day dance and first place in team routine. The team routine was a dance that the team had to learn while at the camp. It consisted of a two-minute routine that encompasses three different styles of dance: jazz, hip-hop and pom.
Â
"I am extremely proud of not only the efforts of our coaches Darcy and Kate to ensure our team remains successful, but also the work and passion from our dancers," spirit coordinator
Kelli Rappard said. "We have a young team and the fact that they did so well shows how well they are coming together as a family and how much talent you will see on the sidelines this year at Shocker games."
Â
The dance team also received a Silver Paid Bid to NDA College Nationals. NDA College Nationals are held in the spring in Daytona, FL. The next step for the dance team is to fundraise enough money to cover the cost of travel for the team. If you'd like to assist in the fundraising efforts you can donate online
