Wichita State and Tulsa have met 20 times - WSU leads the series 17-3 - dating all the way back to March 2, 1978. The two programs went 17 years before facing each other after the Shockers joined The American a season ago. Wichita State and Tulsa have never met on a neutral floor.

Last Meeting
Wichita State and Tulsa met earlier this week on Monday, March 4 in Wichita - a 71-49 win for the Shockers on Senior Night. Wichita State tied a season high with eight made three-pointers and shot 46.4 percent overall. Tulsa missed 17 of its 20 attempts from three-point range. Seraphine Bastin led the Shockers with a career-high 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage finished with 13 points and six rebounds in her final home game and Carla Bremaud added 11 points and a season-high tying six boards.

Scouting the Golden Hurricane

Tulsa is 12-17 overall and finished 6-10 in the league to earn the No. 7 seed with conference victories over Wichita State, Memphis, ECU, SMU, Tulane and Temple. Crystal Polk paces the Golden Hurricane in scoring (13.2) and rebounding (7.4), while shooting a team-best 48.3 percent from the floor. Alexis Gaulden ranks fourth in the conference in assists. Wichita State and Tulsa split the regular season series with the home team winning each matchup.

Is Bri The Key?
Wichita State senior forward Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage is more times than not the key to Wichita State's success this season. In the Shockers' 12 wins, Lozada-Cabbage leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 10.9 points and 6.5 rebounds on 50.0 percent shooting and a 78.3 percent mark at the free throw line. Her 20 assists rank second on the team and she's third on the team in steals with 16. In Wichita State's 17 losses, Lozada-Cabbage averages only 7.3 points and 5.6 rebounds, while shooting 40.2 percent from the field and 30.3 percent from beyond the arc. Her free throw shooting even takes a dip down to 71.4 percent. In the 17 games, she has committed 48 fouls (fouled out twice) and turned the ball over 35 times.

Bastin's Boards
Freshman guard Seraphine Bastin has been Wichita State's best rebounders of late. The 5-foot-8 point guard has pulled down six or more rebounds in nine of the last 14 games, including a season-high 10 twice (vs. Memphis and ECU on Jan. 12 and Jan. 29). She is averaging 6.1 rebounds per game over a 14-game stretch. In conference play (16 games), Bastin has a team-high 93 rebounds - four more than the next closest Shocker (Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage, 89) - good for a 5.8 rebound per game average.

Guarding the 3-Point Line
Wichita State's three-point defense has been especially stout of late. The Shockers have held eight of their last 10 opponents under the 30 percent mark from beyond the arc - five of those under 20 percent. Their opponents are a combined 49-of-204 (24.0 percent) from long range. When including all of conference play, Wichita State has limited its opponents to 89-of-327 - good for a 27.2 percent marksmanship. For the entire season, Wichita State opponents are shooting 28.4 percent from long range, which ranks 35th nationally and second in The American. Eleven times this season their foes have failed to top 20 percent shooting from three-point range in a game.

Offensive Rebounds > Defensive Rebounds
Redshirt junior forward Raven Prince is on pace to finish the season with more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds. Through 29 games this season, Prince has pulled down 123 total rebounds and 71 of them coming on the offensive end. That means 58 percent of her rebounds are giving the Shockers another opportunity to score. Wichita State has 336 total offensive rebounds and Prince makes up 21 percent of that number.

Bri Reaches 100
Senior forward Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage played in her 100th career game on Feb. 23 at USF. The Santa Fe, N.M., native has played in 103 games, making 77 starts during her four-year career. So far this season she is just one of two Shockers to start every game - along with freshman guard Seraphine Bastin.

Bastin's Best
Freshman guard Seraphine Bastin saved her best game for last. In the regular season finale, the Dinant, Belgium, native set season highs in points (19), field goals made (7) and attempted (13). Her 19 points are the second most by a Shocker this season - behind only Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage's 21 in the season-opener.

Home Sweet Home
Wichita State played 18 games in front of its home crowd in 2018-19, marking the most home games in a single season. The Shockers have never played more than 17 games in a season on their own floor. Wichita State played 17 home contests in both 2008-09 and 2006-07 seasons.

Up Next
