The National Association of Basketball Coaches announced its 2018-19 Division I All-District Teams on Thursday afternoon. Wichita State senior
Markis McDuffie was named Second Team All-District 25.
Â
McDuffie – a 6-foot-8 forward from Patterson, N.J. – is averaging 18.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals. His 156 free throws, 76 three-pointers and 623 points all rank among the top-five on WSU's single-season lists.
Â
The senior will have an opportunity to add to those totals this weekend when Wichita State (20-14) travels to Clemson for a second round NIT matchup. Sunday's 1 p.m. CT tip airs nationally on ESPN.
Â
All-District teams are selected and voted on by coaches of the NABC across NCAA Division I. There are 25 total districts. District 25 is comprised of Wichita State and the other 11 American Athletic Conference schools.
Â
WSU has had at least one NABC all-district player in each of the last 10 seasons.
Shaquille Morris and
Landry Shamet were first team selections in 2017-18. McDuffie was a First Team All-District 16 choice as a sophomore.
