BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Shooting the back nine holes with seven for par and two for birdie,
Laine Evans finished the Jackrabbit Invitational tied for 17th.
The senior finished the final 18 holes with a 77 to claim her third top 20 finish of the season, and 14th in her college career in the process.
Evans shot a birdie to go 1-under par through the first four holes, shooting five bogeys to bring her score to 5-over par heading into the final nine holes. The Wichita, Kan., native rallied behind two birdies and seven pars on the back-nine to climb her way into the top 20.
Michelle Ledermann came up with her third top 30 finish of the season after shooting a birdie and five bogeys to finish tied for 27th following her best round of a 76.
Hana Mirnik came up tied for 34th following two birdies.
Annika Chickering finished the Jackrabbit Invitational with a 250 combined score and came up tied for 51st place.
Gavrilla Arya finished tied for 57th after shooting 253 in 54 holes.
The Shockers edged UMKC by one stroke to claim sixth in the Jackrabbit Invitational, with Xavier claiming the tournament victory with a combined score of 923. After winning the Rio Verde Invitational, Xavier had four players finish in the top 10 to squeak past host institution South Dakota State by one stroke.
North Dakota's Ashlyn Guggisberg shot the only hole-in-one for the tournament, claiming it on the 13th green in the first round.
Wichita State continues action in its spring season on March 23, competing in the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Ariz.
