WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State senior pitcher/outfielder Bailey Lange was named to Softball America's Top 100 Players List, coming in at No. 76, it was announced Thursday afternoon.

Lange, a Sioux Falls, S.D., native returns to lead the 2019 Shocker softball team after an impressive junior campaign in the Black and Yellow. In the circle, Lange was the ace of staff, finishing with a 20-13 record in 36 starts. She finished with a 2.90 ERA, 184 strikeouts, 21 complete games in 209.2 innings. At the plate, Lange hit .285 with seven home runs, 22 RBI, nine doubles and 23 runs scored in 52 games. Her nine stolen bases also tied for the team lead.

Lange was a 2018 First Team All-Conference selection in her first season with Wichita State after spending the first two years at Northern Iowa.

Wichita State opens the 2019 campaign Friday at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, S.C. against Central Michigan at 8 a.m. The Shockers play five games over three days in Charleston against Virginia Tech, Pitt and College of Charleston, in addition to the season opener against Central Michigan.
