LAFAYETTE, La. - The Wichita State men's golf team finished play at the 34th Annual Louisiana Classics.

The Shockers finished 15th as a team and compiled a team score of 913.  

Senior Yannik Emmert came up with his 11th top 20 career finish and third of the season, shooting a 72 in the final round that allowed him to tie for 15th place. Emmert claimed a birdie and a bogey on Tuesday, allowing to him finish the day shooting an even-par.

Palmer Hays started the third round shooting an even par in four of the first five holes, coming up with one bogey. The Fayetteville, Ark., native collected four birdies to move into a tie for 37th with four holes left to play. Hays shot an even par for two of his final four holes and added a birdie to finish his day with a 72 and a 2-under par third round score.

Hays came up with his highest finish with a tied for 38th placement, with his third round score of 70 marking a new career 18-hole low. His 224 54-hole score also set a new career low.

Dawson Lewis came in 79th place with a score of 235 while Zac Owens shot a 76 in the third round to be put in a tie for 83rd. Grayson Wallace finished his first collegiate tournament tied for 85th after compiling a 239 54-hole score.

McNeese State claimed the tournament title, shooting 282 as a team in the third round. They edged Illinois by seven strokes while UTSA claimed third with an 879 and Kent State finished in fourth with 881.

Wichita State takes a two week break from tournament play, with its next tournament coming in the Grand Canyon Invitational March 15-16 in Phoenix.
