The Series vs. UConn
Wichita State and UConn have met just once prior to Tuesday's matchup, with the Huskies holding a 1-0 advantage after the two programs met for the first time a season ago on Feb. 10, 2018 in Hartford. Wichita State and UConn will meet for the first time in Wichita.

Last Meeting
UConn handed the Shockers one of their worst losses in program history with a 124-43 win in Hartford, Conn. Wichita State made just 1-of-15 attempts from three-point range and shot 31.6 percent overall. The Shockers committed a season-high 28 turnovers. UConn blistered the nets to the tune of 71.2 percent overall and 50 percent from beyond the arc. They dished out 32 assists on 47 made field goals. Rangie Bessard was the only Shocker in double-figures, scoring a team-high 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Angiee Tompkins added nine rebounds to go with eight points.

Scouting the Huskies

No. 3/2 UConn has held a top-five national ranking all season, despite having lost multiple regular season games for the first time since 2012-13. The Huskies have dominated the American Athletic Conference since joining the league in 2013-14, owning a perfect 98-0 record in league regular season games and 113-0 including postseason. UConn has three players (Napheesa Collier, Crystal Dangerfield and Katie Lou Samuelson) on the Wooden Award Late Season Top 20. Dangerfield is one of the country's top point guards, ranking 8th nationally in assist-turnover ratio and assists. Collier is 4th nationally in field goals made, 8th in field goal percentage and 13th in points.

Is Bri The Key?
Wichita State senior forward Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage is more times than not the key to Wichita State's success this season. In the Shockers' 11 wins, Lozada-Cabbage leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds on 50.5 percent shooting and an 81.0 percent mark at the free throw line. Nine of her 17 made three-pointers have also come in Wichita State victories. Her 19 assists rank second on the team and she's third on the team in steals with 14. In Wichita State's 15 losses, Lozada-Cabbage averages only 7.4 points and 5.3 rebounds, while shooting 43.0 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc. Her free throw shooting even takes a dip down to 70.8 percent. In the 15 games, she has committed 44 fouls (fouled out twice) and turned the ball over 32 times.

Bastin's Boards
Freshman guard Seraphine Bastin has been Wichita State's best rebounders of late. The 5-foot-8 point guard has pulled down six or more rebounds in eight of the last 11 games, including a season-high 10 twice (vs. Memphis and ECU on Jan. 12 and Jan. 29). She is averaging 6.4 rebounds per game over a 11-game stretch. In conference play (13 games), Bastin has a team-high 78 rebounds - 11 more than the next closest Shocker (Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage, 67) - good for a 6.0 rebound per game average.

Guarding the 3-Point Line
Wichita State's three-point defense has been especially stout of late. The Shockers have held their last seven opponents under the 30 percent mark from beyond the arc - four of those under 20 percent. Their opponents are a combined 26-of-134 (19.4 percent) from long range. When including all of conference play, Wichita State has limited its opponents to 66-of-257 - good for a 25.7 percent marksmanship. For the entire season, Wichita State opponents are shooting 27.9 percent from long range, which ranks 28th nationally and second in The American. Ten times this season their foes have failed to top 20 percent shooting from three-point range in a game.

Offensive Rebounds > Defensive Rebounds
Redshirt junior forward Raven Prince is on pace to finish the season with more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds. Through 26 games this season, Prince has pulled down 117 total rebounds and 67 of them coming on the offensive end. That means 57 percent of her rebounds are giving the Shockers another opportunity to score. Wichita State has 306 total offensive rebounds and Prince makes up 22 percent of that number.

Bri Reaches 100
Senior forward Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage played in her 100th career game on Feb. 23 at USF. The Santa Fe, N.M., native has played in 100 games, making 74 starts during her four-year career. So far this season she is just one of two Shockers to start every game - along with freshman guard Seraphine Bastin.
