WICHITA, Kan. – Four-star small forward
JaDun Michael signed a National Letter of Intent this week.
Â
The 6-foot-5 Michael (whose first name is pronounced "Jaden") is described as a bouncy, defensive-minded wing, capable of guarding multiple positions. He was a first team all-state selection last spring for The Burlington School and helped lead the Spartans to the Class 1A quarterfinals in North Carolina's private school division.
Â
Michael is ranked No. 105 in the Class of 2021 by 247 Sports and No. 2 in the state of North Carolina but plans to reclassify to the class of 2020. He'll be a freshman next fall.
Â
Michael's addition would give the 2020-21 Shockers a trio of Rivals150 signees. Current freshmen
Tyson Etienne and
Grant Sherfield were ranked in the class of 2019.

Shocker head coach
Gregg Marshall said:
Â
"JaDun is a tremendous kid from a great family. He's a hard worker. He loves being in the gym. He's a 3.8 (GPA) student and he loves to play defense. That athleticism and potential, (combined) with his desire to win and compete on both ends of the floor, make him ideal for what we were looking for. We're excited about him."
