The Series vs. Houston
Wichita State and Houston have met four times prior to Sunday's matchup, with the Cougars taking all four contests. The first meeting took place in Jan. 2004 with the Cougars taking that contest in Wichita, 75-61. Houston swept the first regular season series as members of The American in 2018. Wichita State is 0-2 vs. Houston in Wichita.

Last Meeting
Wichita State suffered a 73-62 setback vs. the Cougars on Feb. 3, 2018. Despite forcing 21 Houston turnovers, Wichita State converted on just 36.9 percent of its field goal attempts and was outrebounded by six. Rangie Bessard scored a team-high 15 points, but shot just 5-of-18 from the floor. Keke Thompson added 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Angiee Tompkins chipped in 13 points off the bench.

Scouting the Cougars

Houston is 8-8 overall and 2-1 in The American with league victories over SMU and Temple. Houston ranks first in conference games only in three-point field goal percentage and makes, second in scoring offense and third in field goal percentage. Houston ranks 11th nationally in turnovers forced, 19th in steals, 25th in steals per game and 32nd in three-pointers attempted. Jasmyne Harris leads the Cougars in scoring (16.2), assists (46) and steals (45). Harris sits in the top 25 nationally in steals per game (17th) and steals (26th). Her 16.2 points per game rank fifth in the league and 3.2 steals per game place her second behind ECU's Lashonda Monk.

Hot Hand Hampton
Freshman guard Jaida Hampton found her groove on the offensive end over a six-game (Dec. 2-Jan. 4) stretch. The Lansing, Mich., native tallied 10 or more points in five of those six games, and set a new season high in the final three games, highlighted by an 18-point performance in the conference opener at Tulsa. Against Tulsa, Hampton was 7-for-11 from the field and was responsible for 10 of the team's 11 points in the first quarter. She averaged 12.7 points per game during the six-games on 49.1 percent shooting.

Hampton Named to All-Tournament Team
Freshman guard Jaida Hampton was named to the Desert Division All-Tournament Team at the Duel in the Desert (Dec. 19-20). The Lansing, Mich., native scored a team-high and season-high tying 14 points in the Shockers' loss to Washington State on Dec. 20. Hampton finished 4-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line (season highs), while dishing four assists and pulling down three rebounds. She has led Wichita State in scoring four times and has five games of 10 or more points near the midway point of the season.

Offensive Rebounds > Defensive Rebounds
Redshirt junior forward Raven Prince is on pace to finish the season with more offensive rebounds than defensive rebounds. Through 17 games this season, Prince has pulled down 79 total rebounds and 45 of them coming on the offensive end. That means 57 percent of her rebounds are giving the Shockers another opportunity to score. Wichita State has 217 total offensive rebounds and Prince makes up 21 percent of that number. Only three other Shockers have more than 20 boards on offense this year - Seraphine Bastin (23), Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage (23) and Alyssia Faye (20).

Bri Approaches 100
Senior forward Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage is just nine games away from playing her 100th career game in a Shocker uniform. The Santa Fe, N.M., native has played in 91 games, making 65 starts during her four-year career. So far this season she is just one of two Shockers to start every game - along with freshman guard Seraphine Bastin. As of now, she is on pace to reach No. 100 at USF on Feb. 23.

Home Sweet Home
Wichita State will play 18 games in front of its home crowd in 2018-19, marking the most home games in a single season. The Shockers have never played more than 17 games in a season on their own floor. Wichita State played 17 home contests in both 2008-09 and 2006-07 seasons.
