COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - After starting the season with a fourth place finish at the Payne Stewart Memorial, the Wichita State women's golf team continues its fall tournament schedule with a trip to Idaho for the Coeur D'Alene Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
The Shockers shot the fourth lowest 54-hole score in school history at the Payne Stewart Memorial, having three golfers on their scorecard finish in the top 20.
Senior Laine Evans is coming off her best career performance, finishing in a tie for sixth place after shooting even-par in the final round. Her score of 217 set a new 54-hole career-low.
In her collegiate debut, freshman Hana Mirnik shot two-under par in the last round of Payne Stewart Memorial to move into 12th place. Senior Gavrilla Arya earned 14th place while junior Annika Chickering compiled with a 233.
Junior Michelle Ledermann will be on the Shocker lineup card after competing as an individual in the first tournament. Ledermann tied with Arya for 14th place after shooting a 222.
This will be the first time in program history that the Shockers compete in the Coeur D'Alene Invitational, with the field consisting of 17 schools. San Jose State is coming off a victory at the Minnesota Invitational while Nevada finished in second as a team at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. Big Ten member, Illinois, finished third at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate.
Coeur D'Alene Golf Resort's course is a par-71, 6,803 yards in length. The Shockers will tee off at 9 a.m. (8 a.m. MT).
