TULSA, Okla. – Thirty-second ranked Tulsa took down No. 27 Wichita State (7-0), Saturday afternoon at the Case Tennis Center in Tulsa.
 
DOUBLES
The Golden Hurricane got on the board in doubles action where Tamara Kupkova and Van Remsburg took down Gabriela Porubin and Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva (6-0) in the third flight, followed by a win in the second flight by Martina Oklalova and Vera Ploner dropping Ting-Ya Hsu and Giulia Guidetti (6-0). The match in flight one with Ksenia Laskutova and Martha Matoula went unfinished with Fatima Bizhukova and Marta Bellucco.
 
SINGLES
Matoula recorded the first victory for Tulsa in flight four, taking down Bellucco in straight sets, (6-2, 6-3). Vera Ploner defeated Porubin in flight five, 6-1, 7-5, to give Tulsa an early 3-0 lead. In a battle of two top-85 players, 71st-ranked Laskutova dropped No. 84 Bizhukova (6-4, 6-2) to clinch the match for the Golden Hurricane.
 
Guidetti was the one of two matches on the day that went to three sets, where she battled Kupkova in the third flight. After dropping the first set, Guidetti battled back to take the second, 6-3. In the end, Kupkova came out ahead 6-1. No. 97 Okalova topped Sandra Honigova, who ranks No. 102 in a close one. The match went to seven games in both sets, with Okalova winning (7-5, 7-6(0)). Shura Poppe took down Saidhujaeva in three sets, (6-4, 1-6, 7-5) to give No. 32 Tulsa the 7-0 win.
