The Shockers have wins against Buffalo (5-2), which came in their season opener on the road and over UMKC (7-0), Tulsa (4-3), San Francisco (4-0), No. 46 New Mexico (4-1) and Grand Canyon (4-2) and Nebraska (4-1). SENIOR DAY
Sunday's match will mark the last home match for Senior co-captain
Miroslav Herzan. Herzan, from Czech Republic, has a 47-55 career singles record, and is 56-39 in doubles action for his career. As a freshman in 2014-15, Herzan went 18-8 in singles, to go along with a 12-9 doubles record. He was named All-MVC in 2016, after teaming with Inoue to go 23-11 record in doubles action, ranking as high as No. 34. Herzan was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week in Jan. 2017. Herzan is off to a hot start in dual action this season, compiling a 9-4 record in singles action and a 7-4 record with
Andrea Caligiana in doubles, primarily in the second flight. He's competed in the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth flights in singles throughout his career.

BACK-TO-BACK
The Shockers won three matches on Mar. 3-4 to repeat as Mountain Pacific Tournament Champions in Albuquerque, N.M. Wichita State dropped San Francisco (4-0), No. 46 New Mexico (4-1) and Grand Canyon (4-2). Against San Francisco, the Shockers pulled off victories flights three through six to clinch the match, while the first two flights went unfinished.
Haru Inoue led the charge against New Mexico, knocking off his first ranked opponent of the season, along with wins by Dellien, Herzan, and Stoica. In the championship, Grand Canyon tested the Shockers before pulling out the victory and the second-straight tournament championship.

THAT'S HISTORY
At the Mountain Pacific Tournament on Mar. 3-4, the Shockers met up with Grand Canyon University and San Francisco for the first time in school history. Wichita State faced New Mexico for the 11th time, and the first since 2009 when the Lobos defeated Wichita State 6-1 in Albuquerque. The win marks the first over New Mexico since Apr. 2, 1989, with WSU winning 6-3 in Wichita.

The Shockers and Golden Hurricane met on the court for the 37th time in school history on Feb. 19 where WSU knocked off Tulsa (4-3) for the first time since Nov. 4, 1994, and the first in the last 14 tries. Besides former Missouri Valley opponents Drake (16-27), Illinois State (30-10), Southern Illinois (36-9), the Tulsa-WSU Series is the largest with 37 combined matches. The Shockers hold a 21-16 lead over the Golden Hurricane.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth brings a 13-3 record into the match with Wichita State, after losing three of their last four. Two of those losses came by No. 46 ranked Old Dominion (4-1) and No. 23 Oklahoma State (5-2). Dan Martin, ranked 119th in ITA/Oracle Singles Rankings, leads the Big Green with a 5-2 record, all in the second flight. Dan Horneffer is 10-2 in dual action primarily in the third flight. Dartmouth holds a 31-9 record in doubles play with 36th ranked Charlie Broom and Horneffer leading the way, compiling a 10-3 record in the first flight.

Marius Frosa and
Murkel Dellien return to the ITA/Oracle Doubles Rankings (Mar. 6), coming in at No. 76. The pair begins the dual season 6-4, with wins over Utah, Auburn, Arkansas, Tulsa, Buffalo and Oklahoma.The duo ranked No. 27 in the Nov. 15 ITA polls.

NEW FACE ON THE COURT
Freshman
Andrea Trapani joined the Shockers in January, and looks to record his first victory in a Shocker uniform after a 0-5 start to the spring season. Trapani hails from Palermo, Italy and had a 13.22 Universal Tennis Rating coming to Wichita State. He ranked as high as #232 in ITF Junior World Rankings, with over 30 combined singles and doubles wins.

FALL BALL
Frosa, from Romania, led the Shockers in the fall season. Frosa went 8-4 in the fall in singles action, including a run to the main draw of the ITA All-Americans, knocking off No. 83 Felix Corwin of Minnesota along the way. The junior was one win away from making the final four of the ITA Central Regional. Inoue, who ranked No. 58 in Fall Rankings, went 10-4 in singles competing in three Futures events. He advanced to the main draw in two of the three events. In doubles, junior
Andrea Caligiana and Herzan went 5-2, including a semifinal berth at the ITA Central Regional. Stoica and Frosa went 3-1, including an upset over No. 25 Hammond/Cash of Oklahoma State.
UP NEXT:
Wichita State makes the trip to Houston, Texas to take part in the Rice Tournament next Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 24-25 at the Brown Tennis Center. The Shockers will face host Rice at 9 a.m. on Saturday, followed by Texas A&M Corpus-Christi at 4 p.m. On Sunday, they will face VCU at 11 a.m. at the Brown Tennis Center.Â
