WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State women's tennis team continues its fall slate at the SMU Red and Blue Challenge this weekend at the SMU Tennis Complex.

The round robin tournament will begin Friday, Nov. 2 and run through Nov. 4 and will consist of singles and doubles play. The Shockers will be joined by Tulsa, SMU, Wyoming, North Texas and UT-Arlington.

Fatima Bizhukova and
Sandra Honigova, who rank No. 36 and 94 respectively, will be joined by
Marta Bellucco,
Ting-Ya Hsu,
Alexandra Lazarova and
Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva.

WSU collected 16 singles and doubles wins a year ago at the Red and Blue Challenge, highlighted by three doubles win by No. 16 ranked Bizhukova and
Gabriela Porubin. Bizhukova picked up a ranked win over SMU's Liza Buss.

The Shockers are off to a hot start in the fall, as No. 14-ranked Bellucco and Bizhukova advanced to the semifinals at ITA All-Americans in Pacific Palisades, Calif. for the first time in school history. The junior duo collected three ranked wins, including an upset over No. 5 Emma Davis and Chandler Carter of Wake Forest.

The pair will compete in ITA National Fall Championships Nov. 7-11 in Surprise, Ariz., marking the first Shocker duo to compete at the prestigious event.Â

In singles, Honigova racked up three wins on her way to the quarterfinals at ITA Central Regionals Oct. 12-15 in Iowa City, Iowa.
