KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Behind Laine Evans' 2-under par performance, the Wichita State women's golf team moved into a tie for sixth after the second round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate.
Evans obtained four birdies on Monday, putting her in a tie for 10th individually. Her second round score of 70 is now tied for 13th lowest in program history for an 18-hole score.
Senior Gavrilla Arya and junior Michelle Ledermann also made significant contributions in moving Wichita State into the top 10. Arya shot a 74 on Monday to claim a tie for 26th while Ledermann shot a 75 and is tied for 30th after 36 holes.
Freshman Hana Mirnik shot a 76 and is tied for 56th and junior Annika Chickering is tied for 76th after shooting an 82 in the second round.
The Shockers compiled a 295 team score in the second round, putting themselves in a tie with Charlotte. Charlotte is ranked 47th in Golfstat's team rankings and trails Daytona State College by 10 strokes in the standings.
