Katie Malone has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week after her performance this last weekend.

Katie Malone appeared in all three games this weekend and was able to collect the win in all of them, setting a new Wichita State single season record for wins in a season with 25. Along with throwing 14.2 innings and going 3-0, Malone did not allow a single run on the weekend for a perfect 0.00 ERA. She also collected 15 strikeouts.
Malone was in relief for the 12-inning marathon in the first game on Saturday, throwing four innings, but striking out six batters and allowing just one hit.
Malone started game two on Saturday, throwing all seven innings and allowing only two hits while striking out seven batters to receive her second win of the weekend.
Malone was in relief again for game three as she threw 3.2 innings on senior day to receive her third win of the weekend and 25th win of the year, setting a new Wichita State record.
This is the fourth MVC Pitcher of the Week honor in her career.
